Resources for researchers

Systematic Reviews, Guidelines and Large Projects

LKS ASE has an arrangement with Manchester University NHS Trust Library to provide expert searches for Systematic Reviews, Guidelines and large scale projects.  This includes search planning, searches and the supply of any subsequent journal articles, conference papers and books.

If you are undertaking research at this level please do contact LKS ASE early in the project so that the required work can be scheduled in.

This will be particularly important for Systematic Reviews where reporting the search strategy is an integral part of the methodology. For that reason the clinical librarian team that plans and conducts the search would normally require an author credit.

Preparing and planning projects

If you are in the early stages of preparing your research project and require preliminary or exploratory searches to define the scope of your project and identify key publications LKS ASE will be able to help you.  You can request searches or a series of searches by eMailing the library directly or by filling in the search request form on the library web site.

Advice on publication

LKS ASE can provide advice on selecting potential journal titles for publication.  Contact Library@nwas.nhs.uk to request help.

You are also advised to search amber - the home of ambulance service research as a guide to journal titles colleagues have previously used to publish research.
