BMJ Best Practice - Case Study

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is the first NHS ambulance service in England to make BMJ Best Practice* available on their Getac laptops. BMJ Best Practice can be launched via the Workspace ONE app so that it does not require any additional User Names or Passwords.

Vinny Romano, Consultant Paramedic who guided BMJ Best Practice through an evaluation process comments that “Patients are complex and unique, in order to achieve the best ‘patient centred care’ a clinician must take a holistic approach, BMJ Best practice provides tools to be able to achieve this. It allows you to access evidence-based guidance simply by using existing devices commonly used in practice.”

Brian Buck, Advanced Paramedic says "I regularly utilise the BMJ Clinical Support Tool BMJ Best Practice . It is quick, easy to use and allows access to the very latest clinical information. This tool provides me with additional guidance on the most common medical presentations, which can improve knowledge and support decisions taken in the delivery of care to my patients".

*Note that JRCALC guidelines remain the primary point of guidance
