The USER Project

Methodology

The research adopts a convenience sample of users or potential users from two English NHS Repositories, amber – the home of ambulance service research and EMER (East Midlands Evidence Repository).  The research is a mixed methods study using a combination of quantitative data and qualitative data.  The research is in two phases, a structured online questionnaire distributed via the repository home page and promoted on social media and through other (eMail) networks.  The research aims for a sample of greater than 50.

The second phase will be qualitative using in person interviews and observations. Participants will be recruited through the phase one questionnaire where they will be asked if they want to participate in phase two. Phase two aims for a sample of greater than 10. Interviews will be transcribed an analysed using inductive coding to identify key themes.

Over the period of the study, we will collect usage data as a baseline for comparison.
