Institutional Repositories

Repositories are databases of publications from particular universities of scholarly organisations or subject communities. You can search across repositories worldwide using simple search engines. They contain all forms or publication, including copies of items published elsewhere (pre or post prints) and unpublished material.  Search engines that search across repositories are:

  • BASE - Bielefeld Academic Search Engine [ www.base-search.net ]
  • CORE - Searches Open Access (free to access full text) research outputs from repositories and journals worldwide.[ core.ac.uk ]
  • SHARE – Searches among other sources Repositories in USA [ share.osf.io ]
  • amber - the home of ambulance service research [ amber.openrepository.com ]
